Dealing with location data, call data CDRs, email communication and SMS messages. Also trying to resolve who were the individuals involved in large amounts of data which has no natural matching patterns. The organization was creaking because the workload was too high and manual, there wasn’t budget for more investigators and the lead time to train someone was too long.
The Solution
Siren automation with integrated signals intelligence data
The core data sets involved in these investigations were CDRs, sms messages, location data and emails. Siren configured a number of dashboards for these datasets. The system was up and running in a number of weeks allowing the analysts to get quick hands on experience with the system. The graph analytics gave the analysts access to easy to use powerful algorithms (common communicator and shortest path).

The ability for analysts to load, link and visualize data through Siren has been transformative. Siren also enables access to graph analytics to see patterns unseen before. Access to graph algorithms allowed huge levels of automation in the investigative process and highlighted new leads to explore based on real data insights. The reporting functionality in Siren allows investigative insights to be easily shared with superiors and specialist teams. The ability to onboard new analysts is greatly enhanced with a far more intuitive process to learn the system versus historical very manual approaches to Policing Intelligence.
